All of the stoneware below is the work of Jim Metheny of Florida. Jim is a former professional potter who will be producing limited numbers of these pieces. Jim is an avid grower and collector of succulent plants he has been designing and producing planters for other collectors for over 25 years.
• Fully vitrified stoneware planters fired at well over 2000 degrees.
• Planters are as hard as porcelain and will not leach minerals or deteriorate and mineral aggregates are added to the clay body to increase strength and create added texture and contrast.
• The clay body has no lead or any other toxic metals. The decorations are all clay or mineral based mixtures that will not chip or fade.
• Each piece is designed specifically for Out of Africa.
• These containers are only available through Out of Africa.
• Each piece is hand thrown, carved, and decorated each piece is different and may have some blemishing and irregular color flashing due to the heavy introduction of carbon and wood ash to the firing process.
• The measurements that are listed are outside diameter x depth of pot.
Shipping charges will be billed "at cost" the containers will be extensively wrapped and shipped USPS Priority Mail Service.
